Annlaug is a fiddler and singer-songwriter from Norway. Her background is strongly influenced by Norwegian Folk Music, but she also enjoys exploring and juggling different genres and traditions. Her great fascination of the music from the British Isles has taken her on frequent journeys across the North Sea to explore, learn and take part in the music from Scotland and the northern isles. This has come to life in many different bands and projects, all based on the exchange that happened in these meetings across the North Sea.

One of the results is her debut album ‘November’ recorded at Castlesound Studios in Pencaitland and produced by the much sought after Mattie Foulds (Karine Polwart). On her record we find some of the best and most respected musicians in Scotland such as Inge Thompson, Kevin McGuire, Steven Polwart, Martin Green, Anna Massie, Aidan O’Rourke and Mr. MacFalls Chamber.

Annlaug’s music is a mixture of Norwegian Folk Music, as well as her own compositions, created within an influence of folk/roots and pop/rock. The lyrics are in Norwegian, with quick changes between lullabies, dark mysterious love and lustful drinking songs. There is also high-energy fiddle music highlighting her love and understanding of Celtic music.

Annlaug has toured and performed both at home and abroad with many different bands, and has collaborated with various musicians from different countries such as Gabriel Fliflet (NO), Barry Philips (USA), Sarah-Jane Summers (UK), Sondre Meisfjord ( NO), and Fribo ( NO/SCO/ENG), but is now ready to enter the stage with her own solo project.
