RUSK

RUSK consists of three young musicians: Unni Løvlid – folk vocals, Frode Haltli – accordion, and Vegar Vårdal – fiddle. The group specializes in folk music from Solør and Finnskogen, mainly because Frode grew up in Våler, Solør. This recording features fiddle tunes that were handed down by such venerable fiddlers as Adolf Haldammen, Gustav Kåterud and Theodor Risberget. The traditional vocal music here comes from Karen Karlsen and Helga Knashaug, among others. Since autumn 1998, RUSK has held several school concert tours, other concert tours and festival appearances. The group’s first CD, RUSK, is now available on the Grappa label.
