Liv Runesdatter

Vocalist and composer

Liv is educated in classical voice training and composition at The University of Stavanger (former music conservatory) and has been working many years with Norwegian folk music, improvisation and experimental voice technics. She has collaborated with many musicians from classisal, jazz, pop, rock and etnical music and studied with several important traditional singers. Liv has produced several performances  together with dancers and visual artists. She established the international dance project "DancePro" in 2004 (Stavanger/Stockholm/Äänekosti) and the production company CARMA Contemporary Art, Music and Dance in 2006. Liv Runesdatter has collaborated with artists from Norway, Brazil, Sweden, Netherland, Belgium, Germany, Gambia, Tanzania and Finland, and performed her music on festivals and concert halls in Norway and abroad. Her solo album “Syng hjerte!” will be released in autumn 2008 on the Norwegian record label Grappa. The album contains traditional music from the western parts of Norway.

Her projects has recieved economic support from national fundings such as Fund for performing artists, Norwegian Ministry of Culture and "Fund for sound and pictures". Runesdatter has achieved Culture Stipendium of Rogaland County Municipality 2003, The Norwegian Music Fund, Culture Stipendium of Municipality of Stavanger 2004, Sleipnirs Travel Stipendium 2005, Culture Stipendium of Vestfold County Municipality 2005 and one year art stipendium/payment from the Norwegian Ministry of Culture in 2006.
