Rua, Sigbjørn

Sigbjørn Rua learned to dance from Robert Dokken, Karin Brennesvik and Hellik Dokka. He has danced since 1981 and competed in the Landskappleik, the Norwegian national traditional music and dance competition, for the first time in 1985. He has toured twice under the auspices of the Norwegian State Concerts, once for elementary schools in Vest-Agder province and for "Hallingbreak" in 2000. Sigbjørn has performed numerous times during the last few years, including the Post Office's Jubilee in the fall of 2000, a dance course for teachers in the fall of 2000 and course for instructors at the Physical Education High School in the spring of 2001. He also performed at Talent '95 at the Førde International Folk Music Festival, which led to dance tours to Zimbabwe and Egypt.
