Rolland, Frank Henrik

Frank Henrik Rolland is from Ulvik, and lives in the town of Utne in Hardanger. Frank is primarily a solo performer, but has collaborated with a number of other musicians in a wide range of musical genres. He began to play Hardanger fiddle while in music school, and was taught by Knut Hamre. Since then Hamre has been Frank’s foremost teacher and source of inspiration. Frank Rolland completed the three-year folk music programme at Fagernes Upper Secondary School. He has taught at music schools in Hardanger, has held many courses, and has been engaged as musician/music co-ordinator for Hordaland County. Frank Rolland competes in the elite (highest) class at folk music competitions.
