Camilla_Granlien

Camilla Granlien is one of the few active singers who perform in the vocal tradition stemming from Gudbrandsdalen. She has studied this tradition intensively at Telemark College, Institute for Folk Culture and at the kveding (traditional folk singing) programme at the Ole Bull Academy, under Jarnfrid Kjøk. In addition to working as a free-lance kvedar (folk singer), she is engaged in a part-time position as a teacher of traditional folk singing, drama and dance at Vinstra Upper Secondary School. Recently, she has toured with the group Skrekk in a presentation for children under the auspices of the Norwegian Concert Institute and Telemark Concerts. Camilla presents concerts both as a solo artist and together with other musicians, including Skrekk and the group Åtte Potte. She accompanies herself on the double bass. She also conducts courses at the Ole Bull Academy and other educational institutions. Camilla has served on juries for local folk music competitions and at the National Contest for Traditional Music in 2002. Performances: Peer Gynt Festival, Jørn Hilme Festival, National Contest for Traditional Music, Nordleik (Nordic collaboration), Norwegian Youth League Festival, Stiklestad. Concerts with the group Skrekk at Blåklokkevikua Norwegian Folk Music Festival, in Kuala Lumpur, at the Winter Traditional Music Competition in Rauland, Josefine Folk Song Club in Oslo, in Utne, and at Oslo Manor House. Norwegian Concert Institute tour with Skrekk.
