Folkemusikkveka i Ål

Festival of traditional music

23rd - 30th of May is the time for this year`s Festival in Ål - Folkemusikkveka. The festival has a long reputation for being a venue for the soloist folk music of Norway.

This year`s programme include church ceremonies with folk music, a commission work, seminars, concerts and dance nights.

Line up at Folkemusikkveka i Ål this year include among others master fiddlers Hauk and Knut Buen and Per Anders Buen Garnås, Olav Luksengård Mjelva, Gro Marie Svidal, Hilde Kirkebøen, Øyvind Brabandt and John Ole Morken. Folk singers Kim Andre Rysstad, Lajla Renate Buer Storli and Margit Myhr are coming to Ål, and Carl Petter Opsahl will perform a commission work in cooperation with Jo Asgeir Lie.
