RIKSSCENEN will be moving into a new, customised venue in Schous Kulturbryggeri during February/ March 2010. Until then, we organize concerts and performances in different venues in Oslo, and cooperate with various players throughout the country.

The new venue will be tailored to intimate acoustic concerts, fully produced stage shows, and modern dance productions, as well as social events on dance floors that are suited traditional dances. The main arena will have a capacity of 300 in an amphitheatre, or a large dance floor of around 350 square metres. The cellar will hold a small club accommodating 40-50 people, as well as a room used for rehearsals and seminars. All of the rooms will be connected to a central recording studio.

In Schous Kulturbryggeri in the Grünerløkka area of Oslo, the Norwegian Hub for Traditional Music and Dance will be placed in close proximity to the Centre for Popular Music. The new complex also includes the Øvingshotellet – a rehearsal centre including 50 rehearsal- and preproduction rooms, and a new venue for the Oslo School of Fine Arts. RIKSSCENEN will thus be a part of the new, eclectic music community and the creative crossroads of Schous Kulturbryggeri.
